Job Description

Coffey Engineering, Inc. has an open position for a Field Land Surveyor. This is a chance to work with a dynamic civil engineering and surveying company with a great potential for growth of experience across the full spectrum of the Land Surveying practice.

Job Duties and Expectations

The candidate will provide in- field support for the surveying and engineering staff. He/she will serve as field party chief or instrument person approximately 4-5 days each week (Conventional Total Station and newer-technology GPS), with some office support for the survey department (including data reduction and processing of the field data). The job may also include other support services for engineering projects.

Schedule

The full-time version of this position is for approximately 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, but we will consider applicants interested in a part-time schedule (minimum 32 hours per week). Daily start times may vary due to office or field requirements.

Compensation

The paid salary will be commensurate with experience, with mileage reimbursement for non-commuting travel. The full-time position qualifies for all standard company benefits including health and disability insurance, vacation and sick days, paid holidays, and retirement plan. The part-time position will include most of the typical full-time benefits, but may include some limitations. Coffey Engineering is known for providing its employees with good compensation, and has a history of very low personnel turnover.

Qualifications and Requirements

Some experience with field land surveying is a plus, but we are also willing to train certain candidates that possess skills in other aspects of land surveying (i.e. office mapping and drafting), and are interested in expanding their skills to incorporate field surveying. The candidate must have their own vehicle in good working order, and a driver's license in good standing.

A working knowledge of Civil 3d and AutoCAD is preferred. LSIT or higher preferred. Experience specific to California is preferred. Survey mapping experience is also preferred.
