Superior Weighted Products is a sister company to AES Drilling Fluids and is seeking a Warehouseman/Forklift Driver for our state of the art facility in Corpus Christi. This position will work 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Starting rate $21.00 + overtime + bonus.

The Warehouse Worker/Forklift Driver is responsible for maintaining the Company’s Warehouse supplies by stocking and restocking materials and products in an orderly manner while maintaining a clean and safe working environment for the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain bagging operation to ensure that bulk milled minerals are properly packaged, weighed, labeled, palletized, shrink wrapped, stored and loaded as needed.
  • Stacks 50 to 100 pound bags on pallets, as needed.
  • Maintains packaging schedule dictated by management or other designated personnel.
  • Ensures all bagged shipments comply with Company’s standards regarding the materials ordered, pallet size, quantity, and general appearance and all shipments are properly documented.
  • Maintains all production records for shift.
  • Ensures the warehouse is maintained in a clear and orderly manner.
  • Maintains mobile equipment as prescribed by Company and/or industry standards inspection practices.
  • Loads bulk trucks, when and as needed.
  • Spot weighs and documents all packaged products.
  • Promptly notifies appropriate management—in advance—when pallets, empty bags, or shrink-materials need to be ordered.
  • Maintain the highest level of safety to ensure MSHA regulations are met and exceeded.
  • Assists the maintenance department with equipment maintenance, when and as needed.
  • Assists with maintenance and production-related activities, when and as needed, and performs all other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Lead and Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; at least one (1) year of prior forklift operation work experience is required.
  • Prior experience working in an MHSA-regulated environment is a plus.
  • Forklift operation certification is essential.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and the maintenance of a driving record satisfactory to the Company.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of crushers, conveyor belts, forklifts, bagging machines, palletizer and stretch hooder machines, and basic fabrication concepts.
  • General knowledge of and experience with electrical and maintenance systems.
  • Ability to operate and maintain plant equipment used by the Company and to utilize power and manual tools required for the position.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn unfamiliar mechanical equipment, tools, and machinery and to stay informed of new technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills, with the ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts.

Working Conditions

  • Will work in a plant and warehouse environment with frequent exposure to heat, humidity, and inclement weather and frequent exposure to excessive noise, electrical hazards and hazardous materials, and will work in confined spaces, when and as needed.
  • On call availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to proactively respond to the Company’s operational needs; must be available by cell phone when scheduled to be on call.
  • Willingness and ability to work additional hours during the week and/or weekend, including 10-12 hour shifts.
  • Overtime is regularly required.
  • Will be required to drive for the plant and Company management, when and as requested.
