The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a cold storage warehouse specializing in seafood products. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant handling, storage, and distribution of fresh and frozen seafood while maintaining strict temperature controls, food safety standards, and inventory accuracy. The Warehouse Manager leads warehouse staff, coordinates logistics, and ensures compliance with food safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements.
Manage daily operations of refrigerated and frozen seafood storage facilities.
Ensure proper temperature control for all cold rooms, freezers, and blast chillers.
Monitor and maintain cold chain integrity during receiving, storage, and dispatch.
Oversee loading and unloading of seafood products, ensuring minimal temperature deviation.
Maintain accurate inventory records using FIFO/FEFO principles.
Track stock levels, shelf life, and product traceability.
Coordinate stock audits and cycle counts.
Minimize product loss, spoilage, and shrinkage.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, FDA/USDA (or local authority) regulations.
Enforce hygiene, sanitation, and pest control programs.
Maintain documentation for inspections, audits, and certifications.
Train staff on food safety, temperature monitoring, and safe handling practices.
Supervise, schedule, and train warehouse staff, forklift operators, and cold storage handlers.
Enforce safety procedures for cold environments and equipment operation.
Conduct performance evaluations and address disciplinary issues as required.
Oversee maintenance of refrigeration systems, forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment.
Coordinate with maintenance vendors for repairs and preventive maintenance.
Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization.
Enforce workplace safety standards, including PPE usage for cold environments.
Conduct safety briefings and incident investigations.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with suppliers, transporters, and customers.
Ensure timely dispatch of orders while maintaining cold chain standards.
Communicate effectively with procurement, quality assurance, and sales teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 3–5 years of warehouse management experience, preferably in cold storage or seafood/food distribution.
Strong knowledge of cold chain management and seafood handling requirements.
Experience with WMS, inventory systems, and temperature monitoring systems.
Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and quality control.
Ability to work in cold environments for extended periods.
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Effective communication and coordination skills.
Work in refrigerated and frozen environments.
May require extended hours, weekends, or shift work.
