Job Description

Woven by Toyota is enabling Toyota’s once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a legacy of innovating for the benefit of others, our mission is to challenge the current state of mobility through human-centric innovation — expanding what “mobility” means and how it serves society.

Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, our autonomous driving and advanced driver assist technologies; Arene, our software development platform for software-defined vehicles; Woven City, a test course for mobility; and Cloud & AI, the digital infrastructure powering our collaborative foundation. Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we’re working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.

TEAM

The US/UK Immigration and Mobility team plays an important role in supporting the top talent at Woven by Toyota. The team manages a diverse range of cases from routine visa petitions to international relocations and secondments. The team must stay on top of a complex and evolving landscape of compliance, best practices, and industry benchmarks. It is crucial that this team partners with the entire Global Operations organization, including Payroll, Benefits, Legal, Workplace, and Finance teams as well as counterparts in Japan. Because of this, there are numerous cross-collaborative projects to explore and opportunities to learn and grow beyond immigration.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented US Immigration Specialist to join our HR team at Woven by Toyota. This role is crucial in managing the full spectrum of immigration processes for our employees while ensuring compliance with US immigration laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in an immigration law firm setting or in-house setting and a proven track record of handling various visa types and employment-based (EB) cases. Although this role will primarily focus on US immigration, there will be great opportunities to learn and develop in the areas of Global Mobility and strategic HR projects beyond immigration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all US immigration cases, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, and a variety of employment-based (EB) Green Card cases.
  • Serve as the primary US liaison for employees and managers on immigration-related inquiries and issues.
  • Coordinate closely with external immigration counsel to prepare, review, and file immigration petitions and applications with relevant government agencies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US immigration laws, policies, and procedures to ensure full compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with external immigration counsel to resolve complex immigration cases effectively.
  • Develop and implement immigration policies and procedures to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide training and guidance on immigration matters to HR and management teams.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of all immigration cases and documentation.
  • Monitor visa and work authorization expiration dates, proactively managing renewals to avoid disruptions.
  • This role will also have the opportunity to work on projects related to global mobility (ex. Secondments, relocations) and cross-collaborate with teams like Legal, Talent, Finance, Workplace, and Procurement
  • This role will report to the Immigration and Mobility Manager for the US and UK

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Legal Studies, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in US immigration, with experience in an immigration law firm setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with a wide range of visa categories and employment-based (EB) Green Card processes.
  • Strong understanding of US immigration laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse and globally-distributed teams.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and immigration case management software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA, the base pay for this position ranges from $94,500- $155,250 a year.
