Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the rewrite and modernization of multiple legacy applications. This engineer will focus heavily on backend/API development, system integrations, and reporting, with opportunities to work on web applications if experienced.

This role is a fit for someone who’s comfortable in a long-term contract capacity and enjoys working on custom systems, backend services, and modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Rewrite and modernize three existing custom applications currently built on outdated frameworks.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs using  .NET Core .
• Support backend development for systems handling intrastate gas and tariff reporting.
• Build and maintain integrations with internal applications and Quorum modules (E1/Entero).
• Contribute to SQL development, reporting (SSRS), and data-related enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices within GitHub and containerized environments.
• Collaborate closely with BAs, .NET/Java developers, and the principal engineer.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with  .NET Core and building REST APIs.
• Strong  SQL skills and database familiarity.
• Experience creating or maintaining  SSRS reports (or comparable reporting tools).
• Experience working in integration-heavy environments with custom applications.
• Familiarity with GitHub repositories and modern DevOps practices.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Haves)

• Experience with  Angular (any version from 2+; team uses 15+).
• Experience with Quorum products (E1/Entero).
• Experience working in  managed container services .
• Background modernizing legacy applications.
• Oil & gas / midstream industry exposure.
