POSITION TITLE: Enrollment Counselor - Dual Enrollment

DEPARTMENT: College Access

PRIMARY LOCATION: Fall River, with occasional travel to all Bristol campus locations.

REPORTS TO: Dean of Dual Enrollment

POSITION STATUS: This is an MCCC/MTA full-time, Grade 3, unit benefitted position, some nights and weekends required.

PAY RATE: $53,986 - $67,748 - actual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and consistent with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Enrollment Counselor provides high-level customer service to students and their families throughout the enrollment process, with a focus on admissions, advising, and financial aid. The Enrollment Counselor provides individualized direct support to students, participates in enrollment events and workshops, and performs administrative work in support of various enrollment processes. This position also supports other enrollment-related departments as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides information, assistance, and guidance to current and prospective students and their families about the enrollment process.
  • Attends internal and external college recruitment activities, including college fairs, high school visits, information sessions, and tabling events at community partner locations.
  • Conducts Early College and Dual Enrollment information sessions and supports student orientation processes.
  • Assists students in completing forms and documents required for enrollment, including the admissions application and the FAFSA.
  • Reviews transcripts and awards transfer credits for current and prospective students.
  • Provides students with information about credit for prior learning opportunities and assists students with the evaluation process.
  • Assists the Testing Center with administrative support and scheduling of placement exams as needed.
  • Conducts surveys and interviews for students enrolled in early college or Dual Enrollment programs; develops a reentry plan for withdrawn students and assists them with the reenrollment process.
  • Supports the Registrar's Office with degree audits, review of candidates for graduation, and enrollment verification.
  • Utilizes information systems such as Slate, Banner, EAB Navigate, and DegreeWorks to support the enrollment process.
  • Demonstrate a sense of professionalism and consistently reflect Bristol's core values while interacting with members of the Bristol community.
  • Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Job Requirements:


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or closely related field; with two (2) years experience and/or training involving college enrollment, customer relations, or office administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation in order to travel to and from meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations as required.
  • Ability to work occasional nights and/or weekends.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with one or more of the following software packages: Slate, Ellucian Banner, Degree Works, Argos, and EAB Navigate.
  • Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English.
