Job Description

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for Embedded Firmware Engineers to support Avion Solutions. This position is based in Huntsville, AL. These positions are contingent upon award.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Utilize expertise in embedded systems, microcontrollers, and sensors with a security focus on both commercial and military electronics
• Perform research, design, development, and testing of both electronic hardware devices and embedded software, creating algorithms that enable the hardware to function.
• Perform testing to validate product architecture and design.
• Understand electrical schematics and interface specifications.
• Knowledge and understanding of the workflow and tools for writing code for embedded systems. Ex: IDEs, compilers, linkers, debuggers, etc.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders from various departments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two years of embedded engineering experience with strong knowledge of C and C++ programming skills.
• Knowledge of security in embedded devices, or embedded hardware design.
• In-depth knowledge of code development for microcontrollers or other embedded processors, allowing seamless integration with firmware.
• Hardware-level debug experience, including familiarity with tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, etc.
• Experience with software development targeted for embedded hardware systems.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks/projects.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to navigate through complex and evolving requirements and challenges.
• Ability to conduct complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.
• Demonstrated technical documentation skills (test plans, ICDs, test reports, etc.).
• Ability to work in a project team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel/Access/Outlook).
• Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.
