Responsible for the development and integration of new or existing applications into the technical infrastructure and existing business processes. Provides technical or functional guidance to project or work teams as needed within a specific discipline. Collaborates on an on-going basis with the Business Systems Analyst. Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, maintains and/or enhances existing or new systems that are reliable and efficient.

Position Overview

Join our team as a DevOps Engineer with server support responsibilities, focused on maintaining operational excellence and reducing technical debt. This full-time, on-site role offers the opportunity to work with critical cloud infrastructure and internal systems while developing comprehensive documentation and processes that directly impact our team's operational efficiency.

About the Project

The Team combines modern cloud-native DevOps practices with essential server support operations. You'll be instrumental in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using AWS CDK and GitHub Actions while also supporting our internal systems through ServiceNow ticket management, system monitoring, and technical documentation. This dual role ensures both our cloud infrastructure and on-premises systems maintain optimal performance.

We seek a versatile DevOps professional who excels at both cloud infrastructure automation and system support operations. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical skills in AWS and modern DevOps tooling , exceptional communication and documentation abilities, and can work independently while collaborating effectively with development teams. We value someone who takes initiative in improving both cloud deployments and internal system processes.

Required Experience

DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure:

• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js ecosystem
• Deep understanding of AWS CDK constructs , stacks, and apps
• Experience with AWS core services (CloudFormation, IAM, ECS, ALB, Lambda, S3, RDS )
• Strong foundation in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
• Proficiency in GitHub Actions, YAML syntax, and CI/CD pipeline design
• Git proficiency and understanding of GitOps principles

Server Support & Documentation:

• Strong communication and documentation skills (critical requirement)
• Basic SQL query capabilities for database support tasks
• Experience with system monitoring and log file analysis
• Process documentation and technical writing experience
• Ability to write Python scripts for automation support

Preferred Qualifications

DevOps Nice-to-Have:

• Angular Framework proficiency (latest versions 15+) with TypeScript
• HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and Angular Material experience
• C# .NET Core development experience
• AWS security best practices and compliance frameworks
• Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray)

Server Support Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with server health monitoring tools
• Knowledge of CMDB systems (ServiceNow preferred)
• Confluence or similar documentation platform experience
• Background in technical debt assessment and remediation
• Experience with patch management and system upgrades

What You'll Be Doing

DevOps Responsibilities (Primary Focus):

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and AWS CDK
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using TypeScript and AWS services
• Manage multi-environment deployments (dev, staging, prod)
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
• Maintain security best practices and manage secrets/access controls
• Collaborate with development teams on deployment automation

Server Support Responsibilities:

• Monitor internal server health and analyze log files for issues
• Develop and track ServiceNow tickets for system maintenance and database support
• Create comprehensive deployment checklists and process documentation
• Maintain CMDB updates in ServiceNow for accurate system inventory
• Develop and maintain Confluence pages for team processes and procedures
• Support patch management, system upgrades, and technical debt reduction

Additional Requirements

• Position is full-time at the PGA campus (James Robo A Building), no hybrid/remote option
• Candidate does not require sponsorship
• Must be able to balance both cloud DevOps work and internal system support tasks
