Job Title: Credentialing Specialist
Job Description
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing the credentialing and re-credentialing process for healthcare providers within our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This role ensures compliance with all regulatory and payer requirements, including Medicare and commercial insurance plans, while maintaining accurate provider records.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate and complete credentialing and re-credentialing for all providers, ensuring compliance with FQHC standards and payer requirements.
+ Manage applications and documentation for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
+ Verify provider qualifications, licenses, certifications, and work history through primary source verification.
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing files and databases.
+ Communicate with providers, payers, and internal teams to resolve credentialing issues promptly.
+ Track credentialing timelines and follow up to ensure timely completion.
+ Assist with audits and reporting related to credentialing activities.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 2 years of credentialing experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with FQHCs.
+ Strong knowledge of Medicare and commercial payer credentialing processes.
+ Experience in vetting providers and conducting thorough bg checks.
+ Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting.
+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with MedTrainer software preferred (not required).
+ High School diploma with 2 years of medical office administrative assistant experience, or AA degree with 1 year of medical office administrative assistant experience, or Bachelor's degree with 6 months of administrative assistant experience credentialing experience is preferred.
Work Environment
Generally a typical office environment. Hybrid work model: 1-2 days from home once training is completed. Enjoy a great work environment with excellent benefits, similar to those provided in state employment, including substantial healthcare coverage.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marysville, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.75 - $37.51/hr.
