Job Description

Good Grounds Coffee is looking for someone that will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, ensuring the highest quality of service and product, managing staff, maintaining store image, and fostering a positive and productive environment. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who leads by example, upholds the company’s mission to serve exceptional coffee and enrich the lives of customers and team members, and ensures all operational aspects of the store are running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all equipment and machinery are functioning correctly.
  • Monitor the working condition of machines.
  • Ensure all regular cleaning and maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Identify and resolve issues with locks, lighting, furniture, and other store fixtures.
  • Execute protocols for handling emergency situations.
  • Manage all money handling in shop.
  • Cash tracking.
  • Over/Under Maintenance.
  • Deposits.
  • Maintain and enforce high standards of store cleanliness and organization.
  • Ensure all areas of the store meet visual and operational standards.
  • Provide consistent updates to leadership: with daily updates along with a weekly one on one meeting.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
  • Address and resolve drink complaints effectively.
  • Build relationships with regular customers by knowing their preferences and usual orders.
  • Educate customers on the brand, offerings, and quality.
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of all coffee and drink offerings.
  • Ensure drinks meet exceptional quality standards consistently.
  • Master and enforce adherence to all recipes.
  • Lead by example with professionalism and high standards of conduct.
  • Set the tone for exemplary behavior both within and outside of work.
  • Foster barista development through mentorship and coaching.
  • Evaluate performance and provide clear, actionable feedback.
  • Maintain a quality control mindset when working with staff.
  • Provide constructive criticism and positive reinforcement to staff.
  • Cultivate a positive and motivated store atmosphere.
  • Schedule and lead monthly team meetings.
  • Plan and organize discussion topics.
  • Monitor designated cleaning responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a coffee shop or food service environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and grow team members.
  • Passion for coffee, customer service, and community building.
